Crate and Barrel

While in Annapolis we all went to the mall near Michael’s home, fantastic mall btw, a lot of high end stores, I was hoping to see a Pottery Barn there but didn’t, they did have a Crate and Barrel there though! I told them to go on that I was going in to wander around the store, and wander I did looking for sales. I did find what I have always wanted for the kitchen and it was on clearance of all things! A black and white striped rug!
004
I think it looks great and really pulled everything in the kitchen together.
It was $39.00 marked down to $14.99, I thought, I didn’t have my glasses on. At the counter she said it was $27.00, I bought it anyway because I loved it!
003
Also bought this garden votive stake for $9.99, you got the glass votive included.
007
Hard to see I know what with all the green!
A little bit of the back porch!
As you can see I had to move the Coco Cola crate out on the picnic table, they just weren’t growing in the shade to well.
005
This is better
006
I also thought I’d add some chairs to the old white table on the porch.
010
I have some chairs in the basement just waiting to be painted white, I just hope I can find time before summer’s end.

Back from Washington D.C.

While we visited my son in Annapolis, MD we took the Metro into D.C. I’ve been there before but didn’t get to see the Smithsonian, the Metro dropped us off very close to it and this is Chris and Sydney walking towards it. Warning a lot of pictures!002

001
Right when you went in they had tables set up about the Queen of England.
003
Why did I want to go to the Smithsonian? Because I really wanted to see Archie Bunker’s chair, that’s right I did! lol You can see a little of Fonzie’s leather jacket too!
006
Jefferson’s Bible, as you can see everything is enclosed. In some parts you weren’t allowed to take pictures.
005
004
I guess this is one of the first computers, Sydney didn’t know what a Walkman’s was… I didn’t get a picture of it.
008
Sorry this is blurred but this is a picture of parts of the Twin Towers.
010
The original Superman outfit!
024
I’m sure this is the original Kermet the Frog too.
007
I so enjoyed this one, I remember Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit also the Mickey Mouse Club, I was never to thrilled with Howdy Doody though so I don’t remember to much of him. When I told Sydney that this is what I watched on TV when I was little she just gave me a strange look .lol I guess a puppet and a moose and something named bunny rabbit might seem odd to kids today huh?
023
Michele Obama’s Inaugural gown, it was beautiful!
017
The bottom of the gown and the jewelry she wore, you can see a little of the shoes too at the bottom of the picture.
018
Other First Lady gowns, wish I would have wrote down who’s was who’s!
016
015
One thing I noticed while viewing the gowns was that women were much smaller back then, I know they wore corsets and all but they weren’t very tall either.
020
Out fit that my dad probably wore in the Navy on ship minus the stripes of course!
009
They had a lot to do for kids there too!
022
012
While standing behind the President’s podium they could see what they looked like on TV, I thought it was neat!
014
I have more to show of course but I’ll do that another time. We had a lot of fun, I’m thinking we were in there about 3 hours and still didn’t get to see everything, so I’ll leave you with this one when we were outside.
This is about as close as we got to the White House, police had everything blocked so we stood in a field to take this picture. You can see some police in the white shirts in the background.
040
It is amazing though! They play baseball here, I can’t imagine playing and seeing the White House too.lol

I hope you enjoyed my little trip, if you ever get the chance go, it is so worth it!
Thanks for stopping by, it’s summer for all of us so I’ll try and post when I can!

My Dad

I was just down to visit him in Annapolis, he lives right by the bay, I love him dearly! I named him Michael after my dad because I knew he would look like him.
007
My dad has been gone 21 years but I still remember his voice and mannerisms!

Happy Father’s Day in Heaven Dad!

Doesn’t it look neat? Love it, love the colors too, I’m so drawn to blue and that fab green!
Don’t you just love the banner so cute, I fell in love with it right away!

I’ve always wanted to do this, blogging is very important to me and every time I’d see a blogger get a new look for her blog I would just sigh because I so wanted to do it too!  So when I stopped over at Miss Kitty @Miss Kopy Kat I found out she was have a blog design giveaway, I couldn’t type fast enough to get my comment in and I was so lucky enough to win. The Cutest Blog on the Block is the designer and they were just wonderful to work with, I went thur their portfolio so many times trying to find my favs and I did, I’m very happy with it♥ Here’s a link to The Cutest Blog on the Block go see the neat blogs that they have done, I had so much fun going thur them. I still have some work to do on it as soon as I find out how to do it, so bare with me on this.lol
Here is a picture of my diningroom so far, I think I need to add a picture on the old shutter, I’ll see how that looks and show you a pic of it!

Cabo San Lucas and I was Featured

Hello everyone, how are you? We got back from Cabo late Saturday night, Sunday we were both tired but I was bound and determined to get all unpacked and wash clothes. Last load done and my youngest called and asked if I was ready to get back to reality ,which meant that he had a basket of clothes for me to wash, I felt like a washerwoman for the next day or so! Today we got some mulch for around the house and I helped with that so we have been busy and tired!
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was wonderful, I really had a great time, here are some pictures I took, could have taken more but I did want to enjoy the vacation if you know what I mean:
This was our room, we stayed at the Marina Fiesta, great place absolutely loved the mattress and pillows, even got the company they buy them from because I so want the pillows. We had a bar, as you can see, and a fully equipped kitchen, if I could have brought the bar chairs home I would have, only the seats would get different fabric on them, and no I didn’t cook.lol
Cabo 133
This is what we looked at every morning while we drank our coffee on the balcony from our room, see the pool bar on the right?
Cabo 001
This is what was hanging under the roof, just loved it and thought about all of you so I took this picture. Even Mexico loves lanterns! Sort of looks like Pottery Barn doesn’t it?
Cabo 003
At a restaurant we ate at were these lights hmmm, wonder if Pottery Barn visits Cabo?
Cabo 052
That’s our rooms right above our friends heads!
Cabo 130
The pool at night!
Cabo 043
Yachts a plenty, just beautiful!
Cabo 059
Cabo 007
Shopping was fab!
Cabo 005
Bought a seashell Pandora charm.
Cabo 053
Serenaded a lot!
Cabo 124
I think these are the same guys but in a different place.lol
Cabo 046
We took a boat like this one out to what they call Lands End, it is a distinctive rock formation at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas. It is here where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.
Cabo 054
So huge and beautiful.
Cabo 100
Some I took in black and white.
Cabo 098

Cabo 089
If you look closely you can see the sea lions on the rock, the guide said “Beware they stink” lol
Cabo 102
If you look closely here too you can see the dolphins guiding our boat, the sweetest thing I saw there!
Cabo 117
The guide me and my friend…hair blowing in the wind!
Cabo 111
Stush and I
Cabo 101
A cruise ship
Cabo 077
I know I look like I had a lot of Tequila but I didn’t, I think I’m just exhausted.lol
Cabo 050
Hope you like the trip, I couldn’t find one thing wrong with it, a lot of great memories for our 6th anniversary! Thank you so much Stush!
Now back to reality!
While I was away, my coca cola tray with flowers was featured at Coastal Charm so stop by because she is having a giveaway which ends tonight at midnight!
